All licensed Ham Radio operators are welcomed to join ARES, regardless of license class! HCARES operates under the Ohio Section ARES, following the ARES Training Levels. This system is divided into three levels, each requiring additional training to progress to the next level. Level 1 is for individuals with no formal training, Level 2 is for those with their basic NIMS/ICS courses completed (100, 200, 700, 800), and Level 3 is for those who have advanced training (300, 400, and more). You are encouraged to still join ARES even if you have no formal training. We hope to see everyone at Level 2, but we understand that this training takes time and commitment. 

SKYWARN™ Training is not required, but highly recommended
